Guildford Day Nursery is located in a lovely old house and takes children from 3 months to 5 years. Ideal for commuters, situated at the top of the town centre and within 10 minutes walk of London Road train station, close to the main Guildford station and with easy access to the A3.
The nursery offers so much more than convenience. Children are welcomed in to large, airy rooms decorated with colourful displays and equipped with age appropriate resources. Our highly qualified and experienced staff team plan a wide variety of activities in a friendly and happy atmosphere. Continuous provision and free-flow allows children to move freely around the indoor and outdoor environments following their own interests.
Our Baby and Toddler Room accommodates up to 15 babies aged 3 months to 2 years in a calm, homely environment. With a separate milk kitchen, nappy changing facility and sleep room, along with a wide variety of sensory toys and activities, we ensure that each individual babies’ routine is met to the best of our ability.
Our busy Nursery Room is full of life and opportunities to learn. The room is divided in to different areas, offering children a creative and messy play area, construction area, home corner, and a cosy book area. Our wide selection of activities are designed to meet children’s individual development needs. We can take up to 15 children aged 2 to 3 years in this room.
Our light, airy and spacious Pre-School Room provides a stimulating environment for up to 31 children aged 3 to 5 years. Children are encouraged to develop their independence by self selecting activities and play equipment of interest to them. Our planned activities place emphasis on children’s early writing, mathematics, science, and I.T. skills required prior to starting school.
Fresh, nutritional meals are prepared onsite following Asquith’s recipes. We can also cater for dietary requirements and preferences. Staff eat with the children at each meal time to demonstrate table manners and the children are encouraged to develop their independence and self help skills by serving their own meals.
Outside, our private and enclosed garden is an extension of what we offer inside. The garden incorporates a wildlife area, a book den, a role play area, an undercover play area, and flower beds where the children can plant and grow flowers, fruit and vegetables.
We are very much involved in the local community, enjoying good relationships with local schools, and frequently arrange educational visits from professionals to support our current topic, such as the Fire Service, Police or local doctors.
