Chigwell Day Nursery is a bright and welcoming nursery accommodating children aged 3 months to 5 years old, within the David Lloyd Leisure Centre. The nursery also has a crèche facility for David Lloyd Club members, open throughout the week. We are located within 10 minutes walk of Chigwell Train Station and on a Nature Reserve known as "Roding Valley Nature Reserve". We also have access to the David Lloyd Club’s car park.

Inside, the children are welcomed into three bright, spacious and airy rooms, where our qualified and experienced staff team organise a wide variety of stimulating activities appropriate for each age group. Continuous provision and free-flow allows children to access all areas and follow their own interests.

Our Under 2’s Unit can accommodate up to 21 babies aged 3 months to 2 years. The unit is set across two rooms with various resources, including a black and white sensory area, a book corner, and interest tables. The babies also benefit from their own relaxing sleep room. In partnership with parents we ensure all babies’ routines are met to the best of our ability.

Our Nursery Room can accommodate up to 14 children aged 2 to 3 years. The children have the opportunity to develop their learning and development skills through quality play experiences such as creative play and role play.

Our Pre-School Room is a busy and exciting environment for up to 14 children aged 3 to 5 years. The children learn through a combination of planned activities, play, and first hand experiences designed to enhance their communication, language and literacy skills prior to starting school. The children can move freely around the indoor and outdoor environments throughout the day.

Our nursery also offer School Days which is where you have the option for us to care for your children in any of our rooms for the length of the school day, from 9.00am till 3.30pm. This enables you to match up your childcare with other children you may have attending full-time school.

We have our own trained cook who prepares our meals in the David Lloyd kitchen. We can cater for any special dietary requirement or preferences.

Outside, there are plenty of opportunities for exploration and fun. With two spacious play areas, children of all ages can play safely with a variety of equipment and resources, including a climbing frame on a soft surface and a green house. We also have regular nature walks in the adjacent nature reserve.

With access to the David Lloyd facilities, there are opportunities to learn tennis on a Wednesday afternoon, join regular swimming sessions on a Monday afternoon or take part in music and movement classes on a Tuesday afternoon.
