Birmingham Day Nursery is situated in a purpose built building within the David Lloyd Leisure Club. The nursery is bright and inviting and we are registered to accommodate 59 children aged from 3 months to 5 years. The nursery has 22 places for children under two years and 37 places for children over two years. We also have an integrated crèche facility for David Lloyd Club members.

Open from 7.30am to 6.00pm, and located near the Great Barr residential area and Junction 7 of the M6, with easy access to the motorway and city centre, this nursery offers both convenience and the highest quality childcare available.

We have four spacious rooms that are fitted with furniture and equipment appropriate for each age group. Continuous provision and free-flow allows children to move freely around the indoor and outdoor environments, which is further enhanced by individual planning that is prepared by your child’s Key Person on a weekly basis. Our planning for children’s experiences follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Children’s interests are observed both at home and at nursery and used to plan activities for your child ensuring all aspects of their learning and development are included.

Our Baby Room provides a homely environment and accommodates up to 7 children from 3 months to 12 months old. Our staff team are dedicated to meeting and following each babies’ routine to create a “home from home” feel where possible. We work closely with our parents to ensure that all children’s needs are met.

Our Toddler Room is bright and stimulating with lots of interesting areas for children to explore and investigate. The room caters for 15 children aged from 12 months to 2 years old and is well-equipped with furniture, toys and resources to create cosy and quiet areas, physical areas and messy play areas!

Our Nursery Room is a “hive of activity” and caters for our 2 to 3 year old children. The room is well resourced to deliver all areas of the EYFS. The children are encouraged to develop their independence and self help skills such as serving themselves at meal times.

Our Pre-School Room is an exciting environment to play and learn. We accommodate children aged between 3 and 5 years old. The environment is designed to include all areas of provision through the EYFS. Continuous provision allows children to self select a wide range of resources, including real life equipment, construction area and I.T. area. We also have a wide variety of planned activities to prepare children for the transition to school.

We have our own dedicated cook who prepares our nutritional meals in the David Lloyd kitchen. Special or preferred diets are also catered for. We serve 3 main meals per day with a mid morning snack.

We have a secure garden with soft impact flooring. The garden provides children with plenty of opportunities for fresh air and physical activity such as climbing, role play and creative play. We also have a grassed area for our babies. In addition, we have access to facilities within the David Lloyd Leisure Club such as their sports hall, soft play area, and swimming and tennis lessons for our children over three years old.
